![]() Thus you're saying that your religion makes you God-like and infalliable, because no matter how much better the other person is you're better because you follow that religion. By voting for somebody because of your religion you're saying that it makes you better than those of which who don't follow your religion, because you're ignoring wether Kerry is or is not a better president and only looking at religion. General CommentKrestfallyn, anyone who votes for someone because of their religion is very misguided. Will disappear from the face of the planet Thank you Metallica for kicking him out, because otherwise these exceptional albums (especially this one) may have never seen the light. This is it, this is the countdown to extinction Maybe without him getting kicked out of Metallica, he would have never been able to have as much creative control as he has had with Megadeth. I mean which would you rather be? A pawn in a much bigger scheme, or the King of a smaller one? I don't know the answer to that, I guess Dave would've rather been the pawn, but I prefer him being the King. I prefer Megadeth's best tunes personally to Metallica's best tunes, but Metallica's longevity with good music has eclipsed Megadeth, which may be the reason Dave Mustaine is apathetic. Symphony of Destruction, Sweating Bullets, Foreclosure of a Dream, and the title track are pure metal mayhem that are as good if not better than Metallica's tunes. He wishes he had made better choices and was still in Metallica, but I hate to wonder what life would be like without this gem. Dave Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica for his drug use and alcoholism. ![]() I am proud to say I've owned this album since it was released. As always, Mustaine's dark lyrics tackle a range of personal, social, and political topics, the former best exemplified by the multi-faceted "Sweating Bullets," which features Mustaine carrying on a dialogue with his own tortured psyche. By this time, many major thrash groups had started slowing things down a bit, and Megadeth showed it could be just as powerful doing mid-tempo rockers as it could with high-velocity barnstormers. "Symphony of Destruction" and "Skin O' My Teeth" boast a slightly streamlined sound, but the anger, sarcasm, and signature snarl of frontman Dave Mustaine remain wholly intact. However, on COUNTDOWN, Megadeth never sacrifices its characteristic crunch. Megadeth achieved massive success with its aggressive fourth album, RUST IN PEACE, and its follow-up, 1992's COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION, combined the band's trademark thrash metal with hints of the more mainstream territory that would be further charted on the subsequent YOUTHANASIA. ![]() Recording information: The Enterprise, Burbank California (1992).
